Payment Information & Cancellation Policy
Payment Information
Pricing
As of September 2024, my half-hour lessons are £19, with 1 hour lessons at £38, having taken into account Musician’s Union research and recommended pricing.
New pupils
I ask new pupils to pay for three lessons as a trial. After this trial period, if you would like to continue with lessons, I invite you to pay monthly by subscription which will be calculated accordingly. Please see my cancellation policy for what to do if you can’t make a lesson.
Subscription Payments
For regular pupils, it is my preference to receive subscription payments on either 1st or 15th of each month. This way, you may set up a standing order and don’t need to worry about paying different amounts each month or term. Subscriptions work out at exactly the same price as once off lessons. They are based on 37 lessons throughout the year following the school calendar, divided by 10 over months to be paid on the first of the month by standing order. For half-hour lessons at £19, this equates to £70.30 per month for 10 months. Please see below for lesson dates, and my cancellation policy for what to do if you can’t make a lesson.
Once off Lessons
You can book once-off lessons with me directly (subject to availability), by emailing amy@queensparkschoolofmusic.co.uk. You will be sent an invoice to pay in advance. Please see my cancellation policy for what to do if you can’t make a lesson.
Cancellation Policy
Pupil Absence
Please let me know with 7 days full notice if you are unable to attend a lesson, and I will attempt to make-up the lesson at a different time or in the holidays, or in some exceptional cases the lesson cost will be refunded. If notice for cancellation is shorter than 7 days, no make-up lesson will be provided, and you will still be charged.
In case of emergencies or serious illness, please let me know on the day as soon as possible, and I will endeavour to provide a make-up lesson at a later time, or in some exceptional cases the lesson cost will be refunded.
Non-emergency make-up lessons will be limited to four per year. Beyond this, students will be charged for any missed lessons and will not be eligible for make-ups.
Lateness
If a pupil is late, they should let me know by email. Unfortunately the lesson cannot not be made up or refunded, apart from exceptional circumstances.
Notice
If you wish to stop lessons, please provide 1 month’s notice until your next subscription payment would be due. This allows me time to fill the slot with another student. If you give less than 1 month’s notice, I will ask for the next month’s subscription payment. Lessons are ideally terminated at the end of the school term.
Teacher Absence
From time-to-time I run workshops and projects that require me to take a day off teaching. In this case, your lessons will still go ahead with a substitute teacher who I know and trust. If you can’t make the lesson and I’m away, please email me and I will let the substitute teacher know. The same cancellation policy of 7 days notice for a make-up lesson applies in this instance. In the case of teacher illness or emergency, lessons will be cancelled, and you will be provided with make-up lessons or in exceptional cases, a refund.
