“I am interested in writing music that moves people”
I am an emerging Scottish composer and graduate of RCS at the beginning of my career. I am interested in writing music that moves people, and found such joy in working together with ensembles to create simple harmonies with interesting textures that leave people feeling uplifted. It has been a pleasure to work with professional ensembles including Red Note Ensemble, the Marian Consort, Juice Vocal, and to have performances at ‘The Night With…’ UK tour, ‘Sound Festival’ Aberdeen, and ‘Music at Oxford’. My most fulfilling experiences so far have been music-making in community settings, where I have found a real passion for making music accessible. I have led multiple projects with young people including the ‘YMI Sound-escapes’ project in July 2022, a collaborative commission with Aberdeen’s amateur ‘Learig’ orchestra, and through receipt of the ‘Kimie Prize’, a commission for Live Music Now musicians, to create a new work designed specifically for a residential care home setting. Recently, I have taken part in Making Music’s ‘Adopt a Composer Scheme’, and composed a collaborative piece for a Ladies’ community choir in Clackmannanshire.

Songwriting is an important part of expressing my faith and creativity.
As a follower of Jesus, I love writing songs that talk about God’s goodness and express my faith and dependence on Him through life’s changing seasons.
